GAUGE:

13 stitches + 8 rows = 4 inches (10 cm) in double crochet.> BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. SCARF

Chain 197.

Row 1 Double crochet in 4^th chain from hook and in each chain across – 195 stitches.

Rows 2-9 Chain 3 – counts as double crochet, turn. Double crochet in each double crochet across – 195 double crochets. Do not break off yarn at end of Row 9.

Border and Fringe

Chain 1, turn to short end and work 10 single crochets evenly across, turn. Chain 40, slip stitch in first 2 single crochets on short end, *chain 40, slip stitch in last single crochet worked and next single crochet; repeat from * to last single crochet, chain 40, single crochet in same single crochet.

Turn to side, single crochet in each double crochet; turn to opposite short end, work 10 single crochets across, turn. Work chain loop fringe same as at first end, fasten off.

Join yarn with slip stitch to first stitch of unworked side (starting chain edge), sc in each loop of starting chain. Fasten off. Weave in ends.
