GAUGE:

9 double crochets = 4 inches [10 cm] BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

PONCHO STRIPS (Make 2)

Chain 26 [31, 36].

Foundation Row Double crochet in 4th chain from hook and in each chain across; turn – 24 [29, 34] double crochets.

Row 1 Chain 3 (counts as first double crochet), double crochet in each double crochet across; turn.

Repeat Row 1 until piece measures 22 (25, 28) inches from beginning. Fasten off. Weave in ends.

FINISHING
Place marker on long side of first piece, 11 (12½, 15) inches from one end.
Sew end of second piece to side of first piece between corner and marker.
Sew end of first piece to side of second piece (matching A to A and B to B as shown on schematic).

EMBELLISHMENTS
With Fun Fur, work 1 row of double crochet evenly spaced along bottom and neck edges of poncho.

Optional Trims
Sew 5 inches tassels to front and back points OR Attach 5 inches fringe evenly spaced along bottom edges.
