Bold Raglan Pullover

Lion Brand® Wool-Ease® Thick & Quick®

9 sts + 12 rows = 4 in. (10 cm) in St st (k on RS, p on WS) with larger needles.

When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. The needle or hook size called for in the pattern is based on what the designer used, but it is not unusual for gauge to vary from person to person. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make your swatch, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

Making a Gauge Swatch

skp Slip 1 as if to knit, knit 1, pass slip stitch over knit stitch – 1 st decreased.

K1, p1 Rib (multiple of 2 sts + 1)
Row 1 (RS):
K1, *p1, k1; rep from * to end of row.
Row 2: K the knit sts and p the purl sts.
Rep Row 2 for K1, p1 Rib.

1. Pullover is worked in 4 pieces, Back, Front, and 2 Sleeves.
2. Collar is worked in the round on circular needle.
3. End with a WS row means that the last row you work should be a WS row, and the next row that you are ready to work will be a RS row.
4. When you see '– 12 sts' in the instructions, this lets you know how many sts you will have at the end of that specific row.

With smaller straight needles, cast on 61 sts.
Beg with Row 1, work in K1, p1 Rib for 3 in. (7.5 cm), end with WS row as last row you work.
Next Row (RS): K2, (k2tog, k7) 6 times, k2tog, k3 – 54 sts at the end of this row.
Change to larger needles and beg with a purl row, work in St st (k on RS, p on WS) until piece measures 16 in. (40.5 cm) from beg, end with WS as last row you work.

Bold Raglan Pullover Reviewed by Laralee Lynch on 2015-01-13 *****
This was an easy pattern to follow and knit up incredibly quickly. I made my sweater in honolulu pink. It is a little roomy, but looks great paired with skinny jeans or leggings. Best of all this sweater is heavy warm and fuzzy, perfect for blustery winter days. I found the yarn on sale so making it cost me less than $30. Since it was so simple, quick, and inexpensive I'm going to make up a few more in different colors to give to friends.
