Little Princess Throw

Lion Brand® Vanna's Choice®

3 1/2 (sc, ch 3, dc) groups + 7 rows = about 4 in. (10 cm).

When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. The needle or hook size called for in the pattern is based on what the designer used, but it is not unusual for gauge to vary from person to person. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make your swatch, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

Making a Gauge Swatch

1. Throw is worked in one piece, changing color following a Stripe Sequence.
2. To change color, work last st of old color to last yarn over. Yarn over with new color and draw through all loops to complete st. Fasten off old color.

*Work 1 row each with A, B, C; rep from * for Stripe Sequence.

With A, ch 74.
Row 1 (RS): (Sc, ch 3, dc) in 2nd ch from hook, *sk 2 ch, (sc, ch 3, dc) in next ch; rep from * to last 3 ch, sk 2 ch, sc in last ch. Change to next color in the Stripe Sequence in the last st.
Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as first dc in this row and in all following rows), turn, dc in same st, *(sc, ch 3, dc) in next ch-sp; rep from * to last 2 ch-sps, (sc, ch 2, dc) in next ch-sp, sc in top of beg-ch. Change to next color in the Stripe Sequence in the last st.
Row 3: Ch 1, turn, sc in first st, ch 3, dc same st, *(sc, ch 3, dc) in next ch-sp; rep from * to last st, sc in top of beg ch. Change to next color in the Stripe Sequence in the last st.
Row 4: Ch 3, turn, dc in same st, *(sc, ch3, dc) in next ch-sp; rep from * to last 2 ch-sps, (sc, ch2, dc) in next ch-sp, sc in 2nd ch of last ch-sp.
Rep Rows 3 and 4 changing color following Stripe Sequence until 53 rows have been worked.
Fasten off.

From RS, join C with sl st anywhere along outer edge of Throw.
Rnd 1: Work sc evenly spaced around outer edge of Throw, working 3 sc in each corner, join with sl st in first sc.
Rnd 2: *Ch 3, sk 1 st, sl st in next st; rep from * around; join with sl st in base of beg ch-3.
Fasten off.
Weave in ends.

Little Princess Throw Reviewed by MaryAnn West on 2014-05-23 *****
"OOOH, I LIKE this pattern----it's really fun to do...."
---Mary E.
(90+ yrs. young/Lefty)

I'm doing this in 2 alternating colors, so they can be carried up the sides for less "ends".

Thankyou, from a Big Princess!
