Patchwork Girlie Throw

Lion Brand® Modern Baby®

GAUGE:

18 sts + 16 rows = 4 in. (10 cm) in pattern - counting each sc and each ch-1 sp as a st.
One Square = about 7 x 7 in. (18 x 18 cm).

When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. The needle or hook size called for in the pattern is based on what the designer used, but it is not unusual for gauge to vary from person to person. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make your swatch, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

Making a Gauge Swatch

STITCH EXPLANATION:

Shell Work 5 (7) dc in indicated st or sp.

NOTES:

1. Throw is made from 12 Squares – 6 each of 2 designs. Squares are joined together as they are crocheted, following an Assembly Diagram.
2. Each Square is worked back and forth in rows. The color is changed to create 5 Patches of color in each Square.
3. If desired, work over ends as you go or weave them in when Throw has been completed.
