Top Of The Morning Hat

Lion Brand« Wool-Ease« Thick & Quick« - Vanna's Glamour®

GAUGE:

9 sc = about 4 in. (10 cm).

When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. The needle or hook size called for in the pattern is based on what the designer used, but it is not unusual for gauge to vary from person to person. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make your swatch, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

Making a Gauge Swatch

STITCH EXPLANATION:

sc2tog (sc 2 sts together) Insert hook into st and draw up a loop. Insert hook into next st and draw up a loop. Yarn over, draw through all 3 loops on hook – 1 st decreased.

Top Of The Morning Hat Reviewed by Colleen Hammond on 2014-03-11 *****
I LOVE this hat! It worked up easily and my boys and husband can't keep their hands off of it. They keep picking it up to put on. I used the exact materials and it's a nice thick hat. I plan on letting my 10 year old wear it to school on St. Patrick's Day but it's a little big for him so will run a chain string around the inside of the hat where it sits on his head to make it 'adjustable'. My dog didn't seem to mind wearing it either!
