Cabled Tweed Hat

Lion Brand® Heartland®

19 sts + 24 rows = about 4 in. (10 cm) in pattern.

When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. The needle or hook size called for in the pattern is based on what the designer used, but it is not unusual for gauge to vary from person to person. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make your swatch, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

Making a Gauge Swatch

Cabled Tweed Hat--a story with a happy ending... Reviewed by Marie Himka on 2014-08-03 *****
At first i was hesitant to attempt knitting this hat with so many cables extremely close together---Just the thoughts of having to use a cable needle so OFTEN in the pattern gave me a headache! is such a cute pattern, I decided to remedy that situation and get serious about learning how to "knit cables without a cable needle."

Discovered it is actually FUN to do and find myself looking forward to knitting that 4th row! (It is presently 75% finished and I am excited...)

Thank you for such a lovely FREE pattern!
