Simply Basic Hat, Scarf, And Gloves Set

Lion Brand« Heartland

GAUGE:

5 (2-dc) groups = about 4 in. (10 cm) with size I-9 (5.5 mm) hook.

When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. The needle or hook size called for in the pattern is based on what the designer used, but it is not unusual for gauge to vary from person to person. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make your swatch, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

Making a Gauge Swatch

Simply Basic Hat, Scarf, And Gloves Set Reviewed by Ari on 2014-10-14 *****
I made just the hat for a friend's niece in red, yellow, and green stripes. She LOVED it! I have had requests now to make about four more. If I didn't have to switch colors, I'm sure I would have finished it even faster than the ~3 hours it took me. Easy-to-follow pattern and looks just as good as the picture.
