One Stitch Mug Cozy

Lion Brand® Heartland®

12 half double crochet + 10 rows = about 4 in. (10 cm).

When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. The needle or hook size called for in the pattern is based on what the designer used, but it is not unusual for gauge to vary from person to person. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make your swatch, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

Making a Gauge Swatch

Chain 32.
Row 1: Half double crochet in 3rd chain from hook and in each chain across.
Row 2: Chain 2, turn. Half double crochet in each stitch across - 29 stitches at the end of this row.
Repeat Row 2 until piece measures about 3 1/2 in. (9 cm).
Fasten off.

Sew short sides of Cozy together for about 1/2 in. (1.5 cm) at top and at bottom, leaving remaining 2 1/2 in. (6.5 cm) open for mug handle.
With sewing needle and thread, sew button, centered, onto one edge of handle opening. Use spaces between stitches as buttonhole.

One Stitch Mug Cozy Reviewed by Rachel on 2015-11-06 **
Fits my mug perfectly except for I have one issue I don't know how to adjust for... I cannot get the cozy over the handle & the mug at the same time! I don't know if I have made too perfectly... but if I leave the bottom stitch undone, it is literally perfect, but once I sew together cannot get the sleeve over the mug. I have not decided how I am going to adjust for this issue.
Beautiful yarn! and I love the idea!
