Lion Brand« Heartland - Vanna's Glamour®

GAUGE:

5 groups of 3-dc + 6 rounds = 4 in. (10 cm) in pattern using size H-8 (5mm) hook.

When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. The needle or hook size called for in the pattern is based on what the designer used, but it is not unusual for gauge to vary from person to person. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make your swatch, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

Making a Gauge Swatch

NOTES:

1. Beret is worked in joined rnds, with RS always facing.
2. To change color, work last st of old color to last yarn over. Yarn over with new color and draw through all loops to complete st.
3. When you see '- 12 sts' in the instructions, this lets you know how many sts you will have at the end of that specific row or rnd.

SCARF
Note:
To minimize the number of ends, bring up new color through the last 2 loops on hook when possible. Otherwise, fasten off the color just worked then return to opposite end of row and work with the dropped color.

Sunflower Stripes Hat And Scarf Set Reviewed by caterina campo on 2014-03-15 *****
I made the hat, and it turned out beautifully. The pattern is very easy to follow and worked up very quickly. I made mine in one color and left out Rows 14 and 15. I am so happy with the final result.
