SCARF Note that Bellini yarn is constructed with a 'ladder' along one edge. The spaces in this ladder edge should be counted as loops.
Cast on 3 sts as follows: From end of yarn, skip the first 2 loops (this end of the yarn is the yarn tail), then insert your needle into the next loop. Keeping this loop on your needle, insert your needle into each of the next 2 loops - 3 sts (loops) on needle.
Work in Garter st (knit every row) as follows: 1. Hold the needle with the cast on sts in your left hand and the empty needle in your right hand. 2. Insert right hand needle into the first st on the left hand needle as if to knit, then into the next loop on the working yarn. Pull the loop of working yarn through the st on the left needle, then slip the st off the left hand needle - 1 st knitted onto right hand needle. 3. Insert right hand needle into the next st on the left hand needle as if to knit, then into the next loop on the working yarn. Pull the loop of working yarn through the st on the left needle, then slip the st off the left hand needle - you have now knit the next st. 4. Repeat Step 3 to knit the last st.
Work in Garter st until piece measures 31 in. (78.5 cm) or if you want to make it longer, until almost all yarn has been used and about 5 loops of working yarn remain. Continuing to use yarn loops as sts, bind off.
FINISHING Use your fingers to weave the yarn ends into the fabric of the Scarf. |
