Diagonal Lacy Scarf
Lion Brand® Amazing®
GAUGE: 15 sts = 4 in. (10 cm) over pattern. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
STITCH EXPLANATION: yo (yarn over) An increase that also creates a small decorative hole (eyelet) in the fabric, worked as follows: 1. Bring yarn to front, between the needles. 2. Take yarn to back, over the right needle. This creates a new st. |
NOTES: 1. Scarf is worked lengthwise, back and forth in rows on circular needle as if working on straight needles. 2. Circular needle is used to accommodate large number of sts. 3. The pattern stitch creates a diagonal effect causing the ends of the Scarf to slant slightly.

SCARF Cast on 263 sts loosely. Work back and forth on circular needle, as if working on straight needles. Knit 2 rows. Row 1 (RS): K4, *yo, k2tog; rep from * to last 3 sts, k3. Row 2: K3, p to last 3 sts, k3. Rep Rows 1 and 2 until piece measures about 5 1/2 in. (14 cm) from beginning, end with a RS row. Note: End with a RS row means that the last row you work should be a RS row. Knit 2 rows. Bind off.
