Team Colors Scarf
Lion Brand® Hometown USA®
About 4 1/2 stitches = 4 in. (10 cm) in Pattern stitch. EXACT GAUGE IS NOT ESSENTIAL FOR THIS PROJECT.
Scarf is worked with 2 strands of yarn held together, 1 strand of each of the 2 colors.
SCARF With one strand each of A and B held together, cast on 7 stitches. Knit 3 rows. Pattern Row 1: Knit 1, purl 5, knit 1. Pattern Row 2: Knit. Repeat Pattern Rows 1 and 2 until about 2 yards (2 meters) of each color of yarn remains, end with a Row 2. Knit 2 rows. Bind off.
I made an afghan out of this yarn and found it worked well to split the plys of the ends and weave each seperately. Then, instead of weaving around stitches, weave each ply into stitches and sort of knot into iteslf like when going back and forth with a sewing machine to make a secure finish. It had worked well for my afghan this way, but I am only about halfway done with this scarf so I can't speak for that. I like this pattern especially because it can be made in a pinch for a male or female. I can see myself coming back to this pattern again in the future.
