Croak Skull Illusion Scarf
Lion Brand® Vanna's Choice®
GAUGE:
17 sts + 30 rows = about 4 in. (10 cm) in Illusion Stripes.
BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
STITCH EXPLANATION:
PATTERN STITCH Illusion Stripes Rows 1 and 2: With A, knit. Row 3: With B, knit. Row 4: With B, purl. Rep Rows 1-4 for Illusion Stripes pattern.
NOTES:
1. Illusion pattern is worked following charts. Read RS rows of charts from right to left and WS rows from left to right. 2. Carry colors not in use up side edge of Scarf. Do not pull the carried strands too tightly, or one edge may be shorter than the other edge. 3. As this is an illusion scarf, the chart pattern will not be apparent when looking head-on; the scarf must be viewed at an angle for the image to appear. 4. Crochet hook is used for making fringe only.
Please note that the photo below shows the skull made with Chart 2. The skull in Chart 1 will face the opposite direction (it will be the mirror image of the photo).
