Row 2: Chain 1, turn, work 2 single crochet in first single crochet, single crochet in next single crochet, 2 single crochet in last single crochet - 5 single crochet at the end of this row.
Rows 3-5: Chain 1, turn, work 2 single crochet in first single crochet, single crochet in each single crochet across to last single crochet, 2 single crochet in last single crochet - 11 single crochet at the end of Row 5.
Row 6: Chain 3 (counts as a double crochet), turn, double crochet in first single crochet, double crochet in next single crochet, *chain 1, skip next single crochet, double crochet in next single crochet; repeat from * across to last single crochet, 2 double crochet in last single crochet - 9 double crochet and 4 chain-1 spaces at the end of this row.
Row 7: Chain 1, turn, work 2 single crochet in first double crochet, single crochet in each double crochet and chain-1 space across to last double crochet (this is the beginning chain of Row 6), 2 single crochet in last double crochet - 15 single crochet at the end of this row.
Rows 8-11: Chain 1, turn, work 2 single crochet in first single crochet, single crochet in each single crochet across to last single crochet, 2 single crochet in last single crochet - 23 single crochet at the end of Row 11.
Repeat Rows 6-11 three more times until you have a total of 59 stitches. Fasten off.
