Fog Bank Triangle Wrap

Lion Brand« Homespun®

GAUGE:

8 sts = about 4 in. (10 cm) in Garter st (k every row).

When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. The needle or hook size called for in the pattern is based on what the designer used, but it is not unusual for gauge to vary from person to person. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make your swatch, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

Making a Gauge Swatch

STITCH EXPLANATION:

kfb (knit in front and back) Knit next st without removing it from left needle, then k through back of same st -1 st increased.

NOTES:

1. Wrap is worked from the point up.
2. A circular needle is used to accommodate the bulky sts. Work back and forth in rows on circular needle as if working on straight needles.
3. Wrap is worked in Garter st (k every row), so there is no real RS or WS. Ties are worked in St st (k on RS, p on WS). Edges of ties will naturally roll slightly.

WRAP
Cast on 3 sts.
Row 1: Knit 3.
Row 2: Kfb, k to end of row - 4 sts.
Rep Row 2 until there are 82 sts.
Next Row:K2 and slip these sts to a holder, bind off next 78 sts, knit to end of row. 2 sts remain on needle. Do not cut yarn.

FINISHING
Tie

K1, kfb in next st - 3 sts.
Work in St st (k on RS, p on WS) until tie measures about 23 in. (58.5 cm).
Next Row: Sl 1, k2 sts together, pass sl st over st just knit. Fasten off.
Return the 2 sts on holder back to needle and make a second tie same as the first.
With sewing needle and thread, sew a few sts through the Wrap and the base of the tie to reinforce the area.
Rep on opposite tie.
Weave in ends.
