GAUGE: 19 sts + 28 rows = about 4 in. (10 cm) in St st (k on RS, p on WS) BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
STITCH EXPLANATION: Seed St (multiple of 2 sts)
Row 1: *K1, p1; rep from * to end of row.
Row 2: P the knit sts, and k the purl sts.

NOTES: 1. Circular needle is used to accommodate the large number of sts. Work back and forth on circular needle as if working on straight needles.
2. Blanket is worked in one piece in St st (k on RS, p on WS) with Seed st borders.
3. Markers are used to separate the border sts from the center St st section. After placement, slip markers as you come to them.

Cast on 114 sts.
Lower Border
Work in Seed st for 6 rows.
Next Row (RS): Work in Seed st over first 5 sts for side border, place marker (pm), knit to last 5 sts, pm, work last 5 sts in Seed st for side border.
Keeping the first and last 5 border sts in Seed st and the remaining sts in St st (k on RS, p on WS) work until piece measures about 21 in. (53.5 cm) from beginning.
Top Border
Work in Seed st for 6 rows.
Bind off.
FINISHING
Weave in ends.
