Cast on 54 stitches. Place marker for beginning of round. Join by working the first stitch on left hand needle with the working yarn from the right hand needle, being careful not to twist stitches. The marker indicates where each round begins. When you come to where the marker has been placed just slip it from the left hand needle to the right hand needle.
Beginning Border
Rounds 1 and 3: Knit.
Rounds 2 and 4: Purl.
Change to Stockinette stitch worked in the round (knit every round), and work until piece measures about 9 1/2 in. (24 cm) from beginning.
Ending Border
Rounds 1 and 3: Purl.
Rounds 2 and 4: Knit.
Bind off.
FINISHING
Weave in ends.

| I just finished my cowl which I started on 12.22.12. I love it!! I used the amethyst chenille with needle size called for in the pattern. My only suggestions is to cast on loosely if you are a tight knitter like I am. I also used a very loose bind off called "Grandma's Bind Off" from youtube which allows for a very nice finish that drapes on the neck. I love working with the chenille and want to make matching hand warmers because I work in a very cold office building. This was fun to make and easy.
