CAKE
Base
With knife, cut a cake slice from the disk.
Apply a thin line of glue on both cut edges of slice to divide the slice into layers. Glue a strand of B along glued line. Repeat on cut edges of disk - the inside of the cake where the slice was cut from.
Cake
Cut short pieces of A until you have about 2 handfuls of yarn pieces.
With paintbrush, spread glue above and below the line of B on slice. Sprinkle glued areas with cut A pieces. If necessary, use a toothpick to adhere the small pieces into the glue. Repeat to cover cut edges of disk - the inside of the cake where the slice was cut from.
Allow pieces to dry.
Frosting
Sides
With paintbrush, spread glue on curved, outside portion of slice. Glue a strand of B back and forth between top and lower edge of slice in closely spaced vertical rows to cover glued area. Repeat to cover outside of disk.
Top
Apply a narrow line of glue around outside edge of top of disk. Glue A back and forth in a closely spaced rounded arc around top of disk until you have 6 rows of A, gluing every row. Cut A, then glue on one row of B. Continue applying glue and gluing on 6 rows of A and one row of B until entire top of disk is covered.
Cover top of slice in the same way.
Allow pieces to dry.
FINISHING
Trim
Cut two 72 in. (183 cm) long strands of B. Hold strands together and fold in half. Twist strands together, then glue around outside edge of top of disk.
Allow to dry, then trim ends. Repeat to apply trim to lower edge of disk.
With two 12 in. (30.5 cm) long strands of B, make same trim on top and lower edges of slice.
