OCTAGON (make 99 - 22 with C, 14 with K, 9 each with B, E, F, G, I, and L, 5 with J, and 4 with D)
Ch 2.
Rnd 1 (RS): Work 8 sc in 2nd ch from hook; join with sl st in first sc - 8 sc at the end of this rnd.
Rnd 2: Ch 5 (counts as dc, ch 2 in this rnd and in all following rnds), *3 dc in next sc, ch 2; rep from * around, 2 dc in first st (at base of beg ch-5); join with sl st in 3rd ch of beg ch - 24 dc and 8 ch-2 sps at the end of this rnd.
Rnd 3: (Sl st, ch 5, dc) in first ch-sp, *dc in next 3 dc, (dc, ch 2, dc) in next ch-2 sp; rep from * to last 3 dc, dc in last 3 dc; join with sl st in 3rd ch of beg ch - 40 dc (5 dc on each side) and 8 ch-2 sps at the end of this rnd.
Fasten off, leaving a long yarn tail for sewing.
SQUARES (make 116 - 30 with D, 28 with A, 20 each with B and H, 10 with J, and 8 with F)
Ch 9.
Row 1 (RS): Dc in 4th ch from hook (beg ch counts as dc) and in each ch across - 7 dc at the end of this row.
Rows 2 and 3: Ch 3 (counts as dc), turn, dc in each dc across, dc in top of beg ch.
Fasten off, leaving a long yarn tail for sewing.
FINISHING
Arrange Octagons and Squares as shown in Assembly Diagram, or as desired, and sew together. Note: For each seam, use the same color yarn as one of the edges being sewn together.
Edging
With RS facing, join G with a sl st anywhere along outside edge of Afghan, work sc evenly spaced all the way around the outside edge of Afghan, working ch 1 at each corner and point; join with sl st in first sc. Fasten off.
