Double Crochet Two-Ball Scarf

Lion Brand® Tweed Stripes®

11 double crochet stitches = about 4 in. (10 cm). When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. The needle or hook size called for in the pattern is based on what the designer used, but it is not unusual for gauge to vary from person to person. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make your swatch, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

Making a Gauge Swatch

Chain 24.
Row 1: Work a double crochet in the 4th chain from hook (the beginning chain counts as the first double crochet) and in each chain across - 22 double crochet.
Row 2: Chain 3 (counts as the first double crochet), turn, double crochet in each stitch across.
Repeat Row 2 until piece measures about 60 in. (152.5 cm) from beginning.
Fasten off.

Trim the yarn ends so they are about 4 in. (10cm) long. With crochet hook, pull the yarns through the stitches of your Scarf so that the ends are secure.

I love the tweed yarn! I do agree it is really soft and I love the colors the way they blend and change. If you like a row of sc first try makinking a dc foundation chain. The pattern is so-o easy. You'd think this one could breeze right thru it. Nope. Got cocky. lol Anyway I learned just cause you can doesn't mean you should. "Slow and easy is the pace, slow and easy wins the race". Patience, watch the stitches or you may find some missing or a you may have a couple extra. So this project taught me to slow down and pay attention.
