Triangle In The Square Afghan
Lion Brand® Vanna's Choice®
GAUGE:
12 sc and 15 rows = 4 in. (10 cm). BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
NOTES:
1. Afghan is made of 4 Strips. Each strip is worked in a sequence of 5 Blocks using 2 different colors for each block. These 2 colors are designated first color and second color in the pattern instructions.
2. For each block, use 1 ball of first color and 2 balls of 2nd color. Wind yarn into separate balls as needed.
3. Strips are worked in single crochet, changing color following written instructions below.
4. To change color, work last st of old color to last yarn over. Yarn over with new color and draw through all loops on hook to complete st. Drop old color and proceed with new color. Do not fasten off old color until instructed to do so. Pick up old color when next needed.

It takes patience to keep changing the colors, and if you're not careful to work the color changes as instructed, the old color will carry over the top of the stitches looking messy.
Have to stop often to keep the 2 yarns from tangeling, but it is worth the effort.
