Exact gauge is not essential to this project.

NOTES:

1. In this pattern, the turning chain does not count as a st. Since the turning chain does not count as a st, do not work into the top of the ch at the end of each row.
2. Don’t be concerned If your stitch count is slightly different than the count noted in the pattern, your scarf will still ruffle beautifully.

SCARF
Ch 304.
Row 1: Dc in 4th ch from hook, *dc in next ch, 2 dc in next ch; rep from * across – 451 dc at the end of this row.
Row 2: Ch 3 (does not count as a st in this row and in all following rows), turn, dc in first st, *dc in next 2 sts, 2 dc in next st; rep from * across – 601 dc at the end of this row.
Row 3: Ch 3, turn, dc in first st, *dc in next 3 sts, 2 dc in next st; rep from * across – 751 dc at the end of this row.
Row 4: Ch 3, turn, dc in first st, *dc in next 4 sts, 2 dc in next st; rep from * across – 901 dc at the end of this row.
Row 5: Ch 3, turn, dc in first st, *dc in next 5 sts, 2 dc in next st; rep from * across – 1051 dc at the end of this row. Fasten off.

FINISHING

I followed advice from previous reviews and made this using 200 chain to start and the length was about right as suggested in pattern.

However I felt it was a bit narrow so after completing pattern I slip stitched to other side of starting chain and repeated pattern to give me a double ruffle. Worked out fine.
