Luxe Lace Pullover
Lion Brand® LB Collection® Silk Mohair
GAUGE: 20 sts + 24 rows = 4 in. (10 cm) in St st (k on RS, p on WS). BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
STITCH EXPLANATION: kfb (knit into front and then back)
An increase worked as follows:
1. Knit the next st through the front loop, but do not remove the st from your left hand needle.
2. Knit the same st once more, this time inserting your needle through the back loop of the st. You will have created 2 loops (sts) on your right hand needle.
3. Drop the st from your left hand needle - you have increased 1 st.
M1 (make 1) An increase worked by lifting horizontal thread lying between needles and placing it onto left needle. Knit this new stitch through the back loop - 1 st increased. |
NOTES: 1. Pullover is knit in one piece beg at lower edge of front. Sts are cast on for sleeves. The piece is divided to shape the neck, then worked down to lower edge of back.
2. Lace patterns are worked on the front only. The back and sleeves are worked in St st (k on RS, p on WS).
3. When you see 'as established' in the instructions, this means to continue in the current pattern st.
4. When you see 'work even' in the instructions, this means to continue working without changing the st count by increasing, decreasing, or binding off.
5. A circular needle is used to accommodate the large number of sts. Work back and forth on circular needle as if working on straight needles.

Pay attention to the measurements on the pattern diagram because the photo is deceiving. The pattern as written does not have full length sleeves. I ended up adding 3 inches of the upper lace pattern to the sleeves when doing the finishing, but I should have added 4 or 5.
That said ... this is the second sweater I have ever knit. It was really easy and I am happy with it.
