BODY
With A, ch 2.
Rnd 1: Work 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook. Place marker in first st for beg of rnd; move marker up as each rnd is completed.
Rnd 2: Work 2 sc in each st around - 12 sts at the end of this rnd.
Rnd 3: *2 sc in next st, sc in next st; rep from * around - 18 sts at the end of this rnd.
Rnd 4: *2 sc in next st, sc in next 2 sts; rep from * around - 24 sts at the end of this rnd.
Rnd 5: *2 sc in next st, sc in next 3 sts; rep from * around - 30 sts at the end of this rnd.
Rnd 6: *2 sc in next st, sc in next 4 sts; rep from * around - 36 sts at the end of this rnd.
Rnd 7-10: Sc in each st around.
Rnd 11: *Sc2tog, sc in next 4 sts; rep from * around - 30 sts.
Rnd 12: Sc in each st around.
Rnd 13: *Sc2tog, sc in next 3 sts; rep from * around - 24 sts.
Rnd 14: Sc in each st around.
Rnd 15: *Sc2tog, sc in next 2 sts; rep from * around - 18 sts.
Begin to stuff piece and continue to stuff until piece is complete.
Rnd 16: *Sc2tog, sc in next st; rep from * around - 12 sts.
Rnd 17: *Sc2tog; rep from * around - 6 sts.
Fasten off.
EARPUFF (make 2)
With A, ch 2.
Rnd 1: Work 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook. Place marker in first st for beg of rnd; move marker up as each rnd is completed.
Rnd 2: Work 2 sc in each st around - 12 sts at the end of this rnd.
Rnds 3 and 4: Sc in each st around.
Rnd 5: *Sc2tog; rep from * around - 6 sts at the end of this rnd.
Fasten off, leaving a long tail. Thread tail into blunt needle then sew around outside edge of Puff, pull gently to gather and form Puff.
TAIL
Large Puff (make 4)
With C, ch 2.
Rnd 1: Work 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook.> Place marker in first st for beg of rnd; move marker up as each rnd is completed.
Rnd 2: Work 2 sc in each st around - 12 sts at the end of this rnd.
Fasten off, leaving long tail. Thread tail into blunt needle then sew around outside edge of Puff, pull gently to gather and form Puff.
Small Puff (make 1)
With B, ch 2.
Rnd 1: Work 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook.
Fasten off, leaving long tail. Thread tail into blunt needle, then sew around outside edge of Puff, pull gently to gather and form Puff.
Cut a strand of A about 12 in. (30.5 cm) long, and thread into blunt needle.
Beg with Large Puffs, thread Puffs onto strand of A.
Sew a small st at bottom of last Puff, and thread A back through Puffs. Sew Tail to Body.
FINISHING
Using long tails sew Earpuffs to Body. With dark grey yarn, embroider straight stitch eyes. Weave in ends.
