GAUGE: 6 ch-sps = 4 in. (10 cm) in pattern. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

Ch 20.
Row 1: Sc in 4th ch from hook (beg ch counts as turning ch), *ch 3, sc in next ch, ch 3, sk next 2 ch, sc in next ch; rep from * across - 9 ch-sps at the end of this row.
Row 2: Ch 3, turn, *(sc, ch 3, sc) in next ch-3 sp, ch 3, sk next ch-3 sp; rep from * across to turning ch-sp, sc in last ch-sp.
Rep Row 2 until piece measures about 60 in. (152.5 cm) from beginning. Fasten off.
FINISHING
Weave in ends.
