Casual Cowl

Lion Brand® Silky Twist

GAUGE:

11 sts = 4 in. (10 cm) in St st worked in the rnd (k every rnd). BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

STITCH EXPLANATION:

PATTERN STITCHES
Garter stitch (worked in the rnd)
Rnd 1: Knit.
Rnd 2: Purl.
Rep Rnds 1 and 2 for Garter st worked in the rnd.

COWL
Cast on 72 sts. Place marker for beg of rnd. Join by working first st on left hand needle with the working yarn from right hand needle, being careful not to twist sts.
Work in Garter st for 4 rnds.
Change to St st worked in the rnd (k every rnd), and work until piece measures about 10 1/2 in. (26.5 cm) from beg.
Work in Garter st for 4 rnds.
Bind off.

FINISHING
Weave in ends.

I knit this up in a couple of hours, it was very easy and came out looking very nice. It's an easy one to do for a gift for yourself or someone else. :)
