Image of Spiral Crocheted Afghan
Made in a just one shade of Homespun, this crochet in-the-round afghan shows off all the beautiful colors in a single painterly skein. Make it in Tudor like the example to the left, and watch the light, wintry shades develop as you work.

GAUGE:

12 sc + 13 rows = 4 in. (10 cm). When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. The needle or hook size called for in the pattern is based on what the designer used, but it is not unusual for gauge to vary from person to person. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make your swatch, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

Making a Gauge Swatch

All rnds are worked with RS always facing. Rnds 2–34 are worked in continuous rnds, and not joined at the end of each rnd. Rnds 35-46 are joined at the end of each rnd, be sure to read the instructions carefully for each rnd.

I had exactly the same issue as Krista. Starting on the row with the dc corners, the pattern is wrong and needs to be rewritten. The resulting afghan, with the corners in the right places, however, is lovely.
