NOTES:

1. Refer to each Square for peg configuration.
2. Follow loom manual instructions for SINGLE KNITTING for how to cast on, knit, purl, and bind off.
3. Squares are knit on only one side of the loom. Loom is configured into a rectangle to make loom easier to hold.
4. Small contrast color pegs are only used to hold loom together. Do not knit onto small contrast color pegs.

Loom Configuration
Use the following pieces: (2) 36-hole pieces, (2) 6-hole pieces, (2) U-shaped pieces.
Connect pieces to form a rectangle as follows: 36-hole piece > 6-hole piece > U-shaped piece > 6-hole piece > 36-hole piece > U-shaped piece.
Place one small contrast color peg in each connecting hole to hold loom together.

AFGHAN
SQUARE A (make 4)
Insert 39 small pegs into every hole along one long side of assembled loom beginning with a contrast color large peg at right side - 39 working pegs placed.
With A, cast onto the 39 pegs.
Row 1: Skip 1 stitch, knit to end of row.
Row 2: Skip 1 stitch, *purl 1, knit 1, repeat from * to end of row.
Repeat Rows 1 and 2, ending with a Row 2, until piece measures about 9 in. (23 cm) from beginning.
Bind off.

SQUARE B (make 4)
Insert 39 small pegs into every hole along one long side of assembled loom beginning with a contrast color large peg at right side - 39 working pegs placed.
With B, cast onto the 39 pegs.
Row 1: Skip 1 stitch, knit to end of row.
Row 2: Skip 1 stitch, knit to end of row.
Row 3: Skip 1 stitch, knit to end of row.
Row 4: Skip 1 stitch, purl to the last stitch, knit 1.
Row 5: Skip 1 stitch, knit to end of row.
Row 6: Skip 1 stitch, purl to the last stitch, knit 1.
Repeat Rows 1-6, ending with a Row 6, until piece measures about 9 in. (23 cm) from beginning.
Bind off.

SQUARE C (make 4)
With C, make as for Square A.

SQUARE D (make 4)
Insert 38 small pegs into every hole along one long side of assembled loom beginning with a contrast color large peg at right side - 38 working pegs placed.
With D, cast onto the 38 pegs.
Row 1: Skip 1 stitch, knit to end of row.
Row 2: Skip 1 stitch, knit 2, purl 4, knit 4, purl 4, knit 4, purl 4, knit 4, purl 4, knit 4, purl 2, knit 1.
Row 3: Skip 1 stitch, purl 2, knit 4, purl 4, knit 4, purl 4, knit 4, purl 4, knit 4, purl 4, knit 3.
Rows 4 and 6: Repeat Row 2.
Row 5: Repeat Row 3.
Row 7: Skip 1 stitch, knit to end of row.
Rows 8 and 10: Repeat Row 3.
Rows 9 and 11: Repeat Row 2.
Row 12: Repeat Row 3.
Repeat Rows 1-12, ending with a Row 5 or a Row 12, until piece measures about 9 in. (23 cm) from beginning.
Bind off.

SQUARE E (make 4)
With E, work as for Square B.

FINISHING
Following diagram, arrange Squares into 4 rows of 5 Squares each. Using yarn needle provided with Loom, sew Squares into strips then sew strips together to make Afghan.
With same needle, weave yarn ends into the fabric of the Afghan.
