Loom Double Knit Rib Scarf

Lion Brand® Martha Stewart CraftsTM/MC Roving Wool

GAUGE:

8 stitches = about 2 in. (10 cm) BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

NOTES:

1. Follow loom manual instructions on DOUBLE KNITTING for how to cast on, knit, change color, and bind off.
2. To create a ribbed fabric, after the first row of knitting, the loom is laced differently than described in the loom manual. Follow diagram provided for instructions on how to lace loom for ribbed knitting.

Loom Configuration
Use the following pieces: (2) 36-hole pieces and (2) U-shaped pieces.

Connect pieces to form a rectangle as follows: 36-hole piece > U-shaped piece > 36-hole piece > U-shaped piece.

Insert 16 large pegs into every other hole along each 36-hole piece - 32 working pegs placed. Place a contrast color peg in one corner for slip knot.

SCARF
Following loom manual instructions, with A and scrap yarn, cast onto the 32 working pegs. Knit off each peg around the loom.
Now begin to lace the loom according to the diagram provided, and following the Color Sequence below. Knit off each stitch as shown in loom manual after lacing each row as shown in diagram provided.
