Knit Striped Dishcloths

GAUGE:

18 sts + 24 rows = 4 in. (10 cm) in St st (k on RS, p on WS). BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

STITCH EXPLANATION:

Stripe Sequence A.
With A work 1 row, with C work 2 rows, with A work 4 rows, with D work 8 rows, with B work 3 rows, with A work 2 rows, with B work 2 rows, with A work 6 rows, with C work 4 rows, with A work 4 rows, with D work 3 rows, with B work 1 row, with A work 4 rows, with C work 5 rows, with B work 2 rows, with A work 1 row.

Stripe Sequence B.
With A work 2 rows, with B work 2 rows, with A work 2 rows, with D work 2 rows, with A work 3 rows, with C work 2 rows, with A work 1 row, with D work 2 rows, with A work 5 rows, with C work 2 rows, with A work 2 rows, with B work 2 rows, with A work 2 rows, with C work 2 rows, with A work 5 rows, with D work 2 rows, with A work 1 row, with C work 2 rows, with A work 3 rows, with D work 2 rows, with A work 2 rows, with B work 2 rows, with A work 2 rows.

DISHCLOTH
With A, cast on 63 sts.
With A, knit 2 rows.
Begin Stripe Sequence A, B or C and work as follows:
Row 1: Knit.
Row 2 (WS): K2, p to last 2 sts, k2.
Rep Rows 1 and 2, changing color following Stripe Sequence.
When Stripe Sequence has been completed, with A, knit 2 rows.
Bind off.

FINISHING
Hanging loop

From RS, with A pick up and k 2 sts at any corner of Dishcloth. Cast on 16 sts - 18 sts on needle. Without working any rows, bind off. Sew end to Dishcloth. Weave in ends.
