GAUGE:

18 sts + 24 rows = 4 in. (10 cm) in St st (k on RS, p on WS). When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. The needle or hook size called for in the pattern is based on what the designer used, but it is not unusual for gauge to vary from person to person. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make your swatch, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

Knit Striped Dishcloths Reviewed by on 2014-05-13 *****
The pattern was easy to knit. I would suggest making the garter stitch border with at least 3 stitches instead of 2. Maybe it would help with the roll factor. The yarn is very soft and made of many strands of thread so it is easy to split if you aren't careful. I machine knit 2 of them and hand knit one. All worked up fairly quickly. The yarn is pricey for the amount you get per skein but surprisingly, it did make 3 cloths with some leftover.
