SIZE: Small, Medium, Large
Small About 3 in. (7.5 cm) circumference
Medium About 4 1/2 in. (11.5 cm) circumference
Large About 5 1/2 in. (14 cm) circumference
Note: Pattern is written for smallest size with changes for larger sizes in parentheses. When only one number is given, it applies to all sizes. To follow pattern more easily, circle all numbers pertaining to your size before beginning.

Ball Ornament

GAUGE:

Exact gauge is not essential to this project.

STITCH EXPLANATION:

sc2tog (sc 2 sts together) Insert hook into st and draw up a loop. Insert hook into next st and draw up a loop. Yarn over, draw through all 3 loops on hook - 1 st decreased.

NOTES:

Body is worked in continuous rnds; do not join and do not turn at beg of rnds. A marker is used to indicate the beg of rnd. Move marker up as each rnd is completed.

SMALL ORNAMENT
Ch 2.
Rnd 1: Work 6 sc in first ch. Place marker for beg of rnd; move marker up as each rnd is completed.
Rnd 2: Work 2 sc in each sc around - 12 sc at the end of this rnd.
Rnd 3: Sc in each sc around.
Rnd 4: (Sc2tog) 6 times - 6 sc at the end of this rnd.
Begin to stuff piece as you work.
Rnd 5: (Sc2tog) 3 times - 3 sc at the end of this rnd. Finish stuffing and fasten off, leaving a long tail.
Knot tail to make a loop.

MEDIUM ORNAMENT
Ch 2.
Rnds 1 and 2: Rep Rnds 1 and 2 of Small Ornament.
Rnd 3: *2 sc in next sc, sc in next sc; rep from * around - 18 sc at the end of this rnd.
Rnd 4: Sc in each sc around.
Rnd 5: *Sc2tog, sc in next sc; rep from * around - 12 sc at the end of this rnd.
Begin to stuff piece and continue to stuff as work progresses.
Rnd 6: (Sc2tog) 6 times - 6 sc at the end of this rnd.
Rnd 7: (Sc2tog) 3 times - 3 sc at the end of this rnd.
Finish stuffing and fasten off, leaving a long tail.
Knot tail to make a loop.

LARGE ORNAMENT
Ch 2.
Rnds 1-3: Rep Rnds 1-3 of Medium Ornament.
Rnds 4-6: Sc in each sc around.
Rnds 7-9: Rep Rnds 5-7 or Medium Ornament.
Finish stuffing and fasten off, leaving a long tail.
Knot tail to make a loop.

FINISHING
Trim tails and weave in ends.
