Loom Knit Baby Sweater

Lion Brand® Martha Stewart CraftsTM/MC Extra Soft Wool Blend

GAUGE:

12 sts + 32 rows = about 4 in. (10 cm). BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

NOTES:

1. Follow loom manual instructions for SINGLE KNITTING for how to cast on, knit, purl, and bind off.
2. Sweater is worked in 5 pieces: 1 Back, 2 Fronts, and 2 Sleeves.
3. The loom is configured into a rectangle for stability.
4. Finished Sweater is blocked by machine washing and drying.

BACK
Loom Configuration
Use the following pieces: (2) 36-hole pieces and (2) U-shaped pieces.

Connect pieces to form a rectangle as follows: U-shaped piece > 36-hole piece > U-shaped piece > 36-hole piece.

Insert 30 (32, 34, 36) small pegs in every hole anywhere along one 36-hole piece - 30 (32, 34, 36) working pegs placed. Insert contrast color small pegs in connecting holes to hold loom together.

With A, cast onto every working peg.
Row 1: Knit across all working pegs.
Row 2: Purl across all working pegs.
Repeat Rows 1 and 2 until piece measures 10 (11, 12, 13) in. (25.5 (28, 30.5, 33) cm) from beginning.
Bind off.

FRONTS (make 2)
Loom Configuration

Configure loom in same way as for Back.

Insert 15 (16, 17, 18) small pegs in every hole anywhere along one long side of loom - 15 (16, 17, 18) working pegs placed. Insert contrast color small pegs in connecting holes to hold loom together.

With A, cast onto every working peg.
Repeat Rows 1 and 2 of Back until piece measures same length as Back.
Bind off.

SLEEVES (make 2)
Loom Configuration

Configure loom in same way as for Back.

Insert 21 (23, 24, 27) small pegs in every hole anywhere along one 36-hole piece - 21 (23, 24, 27) working pegs placed. Insert contrast color small pegs in connecting holes to hold loom together.

With A, cast onto every working peg.
Repeat Rows 1 and 2 of Back until piece measures 6 1/2 (7, 8, 9) in. (16.5 (18, 20.5, 23) cm) from beginning.
Bind off.

FINISHING
With A threaded through yarn needle provided with loom, sew shoulder seams. Place markers 3 1/2 (3 3/4, 4, 4 1/2) in. (9 (9.5, 10, 11.5) cm down from shoulder seams on each side of Back and Fronts. Sew Sleeves between markers. Sew side and Sleeve seams.
Thread yarn ends into same needle and weave ends into the fabric of the Sweater.
Blanket Stitch Trim
With B threaded into yarn needle provided with loom, work blanket stitch over seams and around outside edges of Sweater and Hat as desired.
To block Sweater: Machine wash on a warm temperature, gentle setting then machine dry on a cool heat, delicate setting.
