GAUGE:
20 sts + 25 rnds = 4 in. (10 cm) with larger needles over St st worked in the rnd (k every rnd).
BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
STITCH EXPLANATION:

I love, love, love this pattern. I wanted a seamless one-piece hat pattern and this is perfect. I've made two in the last week for my little one (due anytime now) and I'm planning a couple more already. The pattern is simple and easy to remember. It turns out great and the decreases at the top create a pinwheel kind of look. Great pattern!
