Bamboo knitting needles size 17 (12 mm), 9 in. (23 cm) long
Spare knitting needle, any size
White craft glue
 

Knitting Purse

Lion Brand® Martha Stewart CraftsTM/MC Mambo

GAUGE:

Exact gauge is not essential to this project.

FRONT
Cast on 9 sts.
Row 1: *P1, k1; rep from * to last st, p1.
Rows 2-6: P the knit sts and k the purl sts.
Row 7: Bind off the first st, work 2 sts in pattern as established, bind off the center 3 sts, work last 3 sts in pattern as established.
Row 8: Bind off the first st, work 2 sts in pattern as established, cast on 3 sts over bound-off sts of Row 7, work last 2 sts in pattern as established. Do not bind off. Cut yarn, leaving a 12 in. (30.5 cm) yarn tail.
Sl sts to spare needle.

BACK
Make same as Front, but do not sl sts to spare needle.

FINISHING
Slip Front sts back onto empty bamboo needle.
Note: To lace pieces together, use your fingers to weave yarn tail in and out of the knitted pieces.
Hold needles with Back and Front sts together. Beginning about 1 in. (2.5 cm) below knitting needles, and using yarn tails, lace the Back and Front together along side, across lower edge, then up other side, ending about 1 in. (2.5 cm) below knitting needles.
Apply a very small amount of glue to sts as desired to secure them to the knitting needles.
Tuck yarn ends to inside of Purse.
