GAUGE:
18 stitches = about 4 in. (10 cm)
EXACT GAUGE IS NOT ESSENTIAL FOR THIS PROJECT. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
NOTES:
1. Follow loom manual instructions for SINGLE KNITTING for how to cast on, knit and bind off.
2. Each small piece of Bunny is knit on one semi-circle loom piece. The curved shape of the semi-circle piece does not affect the shape of the finished knit fabric.
3. Loom can be configured into a variety of shapes to suit your preference. If desired, use additional loom pieces to configure loom into any shape, then knit back and forth in rows on just one side of loom.
BODY
Loom Configuration
Use the following piece: (1) 28-hole semi-circle pieceSet Up
Insert 18 small pegs into center 18 holes of 28-hole semi-circle piece - 18 working pegs placed.
With A, cast on to every working peg.
Working back and forth in rows, knit until piece measures 7 in. (18 cm) from beginning.
Bind off.
OUTER EAR (make 2)
Loom Configuration
Use the following piece: (1) 28-hole semi-circle pieceSet Up
Insert 6 small pegs into center 6 holes of 28-hole semi-circle piece - 6 working pegs placed.
With A, cast on to every working peg.
Knit 11 rows
Bind off as follows: cut working yarn, leaving an 8 in. (20.5 cm) yarn tail; thread tail into yarn needle provided with loom. Slide needle through yarn loop on peg from bottom to top of loop. Repeat along loom until all loops are threaded. Gently remove knitting from loom. Tug on end of yarn to gather knitting; knot securely.
INNER EAR (make 2)
Loom Configuration
Use the following piece: (1) 28-hole semi-circle piece
Set Up
Insert 4 small pegs into center 4 holes of 28-hole semi-circle piece - 4 working pegs placed.
With B, cast on to every working peg.
Working back and forth in rows, knit 9 rows.
Bind off as for Outer Ear.
FINISHING
Fold Body in half. With yarn needle, sew top and side seams, stuffing Body with Fiberfill stuffing as you sew. Matching cast on edges, sew Inner Ear to Outer Ear. Sew Ears to Body. With black yarn, embroider a straight stitch nose. With B, embroider a straight stitch mouth. Tail
Insert 2 small pegs 3 holes apart anywhere along semi-circle piece. Wrap A around pegs about 20 times. Cut A. Cut a 6 in. (15 cm) length of A and tie around wrapped strands between pegs. Remove pegs and clip yarn. Shake or fluff pom-pom and trim ends evenly. Use the ends of the knotted strand to tie pom-pom to back of Bunny body.
Thread yarn ends into yarn needle and weave in ends.
