NECKLACE
Large Ring
With sharp scissors, cut around 8th ring from plastic canvas center (photo #2). Trim outside edge of canvas to create a smooth edge (photo #3).
Medium Ring
Make same as Large Ring, cutting around 6th ring from canvas center.
Small Ring
Make same as Large Ring, cutting around 4th ring from canvas center. Trim away any remaining plastic canvas from the center to create a ring the same width as Medium and Large Rings.
Wrap Rings
Cut a 20 in. (51 cm) length of yarn and fold in half. Holding both yarn strands together, wrap yarn to cover Large Ring (photo #4). To end off, thread ends of yarn into blunt needle and insert needle under wraps to conceal yarn ends (photo #5).
Repeat to wrap Medium and Small Rings.
ASSEMBLY
Step #1
Fold gold chain in half so that one end is about 3 in. (7.5 cm) shorter than the other (photo #6).
Step #2
Pull the fold of the chain through the Large Ring and around thumb and forefinger (photo #7).
Step #3
Use thumb and forefinger to 'pinch' the two ends of chain together (photo #8).
Step #4
Pull ends of chain through fold and tighten chain around Large Ring (photo #9).
Step #5
Open one jump ring with pliers. Bring the longer half of chain through and around the Medium Ring. Slip open end of jump ring through chain and use pliers to close jump ring, securing Medium Ring in place (photo #10).
Repeat to secure Small Ring to shorter end of chain.
To wear Necklace, drape chain around your neck and pull Small and Medium Rings through Large Ring. |

| This necklace was fun to make but I did find a few things that need to be corrected. First of all, 18" is definitely not long enough for the chain. I ended up using about 54" to achieve the length I wanted. Also, it took 46" of yarn to wrap the small ring (more than the 20" recommended for the large ring). I used 60" for the medium ring and 72" for the large ring. I also used a silver chain, which worked well with the yarn color I chose. Fun project!
