STITCH EXPLANATION:
Knitted Cord Work with 2 double pointed needles, cast on the number of sts specified in the pattern. Knit across the cast-on sts. Do not turn work. *Slide sts to other end of needle and knit them, pulling yarn tightly across the back of the work, (do not turn work); rep from * to make knitted cord.

kfb (knit in front and back) Knit next st without removing it from left needle, then knit through back of same st - 1 st increased.
CORALS
Coral #1 (make 3)
Cast on 4 sts.
Follow instructions for knitted cord to work as follows: Rows 1-4: Knit. Row 5: Using thumb loop method (photos #3 & 4), cast on 4 sts. Turn.
Row 6: Bind off 3 sts, bring yarn between needles, sl remaining st to left needle (see photo #5).
Row 7: Knit 3, k2tog. Slide sts to other end of needle to continue working knitted cord. Rows 8-10: Knit, sliding sts to other end of needle and the end of every row.
Bind off.
Coral #2 (make 2)
First Section
Work Rows 1-10 of Coral #1, cut yarn and set pieces aside. Second Section
On a separate double pointed needle, cast on 10 sts. Row 1: Bind off 5 sts, bring yarn between needles, sl remaining st to left needle. (see photo #4).
Row 2: K3, k2tog. Slide sts to other end of needle to continue working knitted cord, and continue to slide sts to other end of needle at the end of every row. Rows 3-7: Knit. Row 8: (Kfb, k1) twice. Rows 9-12: Knit. Row 13: With WS together, hold in one hand the needle with sts of First Section and the needle with sts of Second Section. With a 3rd needle, knit tog 1 st from each needle, *knit tog 1 st from each needle, pass first st worked over 2nd to bind off, repeat from * until all sts of First Section have been bound off. Knit to end of row. Row 14: K4, k2tog. Slide sts to other end of needle to continue working knitted cord, and continue to slide sts to other end of needle at the end of every row. Rows 15-18: Knit.
Bind off.
Coral # 3 (make 2)
Cast on 3 sts and work knitted cord as follows: Rows 1-4: Knit. Row 2: Kfb in each st. Turn. Row 3: Purl Row 4: Ssk, k2, k2tog. Row 5-12: Knit Row 13: Using thumb loop method, cast on 4 sts (photos #3 & 4). Turn. Row 14: Bind off 3 sts, bring yarn between needles, sl remaining st to left needle (see photo #5). Row 15: Knit 3, k2tog. Slide sts to other end of needle to continue working knitted cord. Row 16: Knit.
Bind off.
FINISHING
Weave in yarn ends.
Insert an eye pin through center of each piece of Coral.
With wire cutters, trim eye pin, leaving about 1/4 in. (6 mm) of wire above Coral. (photo #6)
Bend wire over needle nose pliers to create a right angle (photo #7), then bend wire into a loop (photo #8). Leave loop open slightly, in order to connect to other Corals.
Link Corals together (photo #9), in the following order: 2, 3, 1, 1, 2, 1, 3, using pliers to close the wire loops.
In same way, connect one length of chain to each open end of joined Corals.
Use jump rings to attach clasp set to each end of chain.
