TASSEL A (make 3)
Wrap a strand of A around cardboard 9 times. Thread a length of B into large-eyed blunt needle. Insert needle under all strands at upper edge of cardboard. Pull tightly and knot securely near strands for top knot. Cut yarn loops at opposite edge of cardboard.
Cut a length of B and wrap Tassel tightly about 3/4 in. (2 cm) below top knot Knot securely; thread yarn end into needle and weave into Tassel.
TASSEL B (make 2)
Make same as Tassel A, reversing colors
ASSEMBLY
Cut 3 lengths of A, each 60 in. (152.5 cm) long.
Knot lengths together about 4 in. (10 cm) from one end. Braid strands to within 4 in. (10 cm) of remaining end, knot together.
Pull braided length through open loop on top knot of Tassels in the following order, A, B, A, B, A. After all tassels have been strung, cut and remove top knot of each tassel. Fold one end of braid back on itself to make a loop. With a strand of A threaded into blunt needle, wrap end of loop to braid. Pull yarn end through wraps to secure. Draw opposite end of braid through completed loop, and wrap and secure this loop in the same way.
FINISHING
Trim Tassel ends evenly. |
