NOTES: 1. Body is worked with 2 colors, following Chart.
2. Chart is worked in St st (k on RS, p on WS). Follow Chart from right to left on RS rows, from left to right on WS rows. Carry color not in use across WS of work.

IMPORTANT NOTE
Doll is not intended to be a toy. Because of button eyes, Doll should not be given to small children.
BODY
With A, cast on 64 sts.
Purl 1 row.
Next Row (RS): Knit, following Row 1 of Chart and repeating 8 sts of this chart 8 times across row.
Work in St st (k on RS, p on WS), repeating Rows 1-10 of chart until piece measures about 6 1/2 in. (16.5 cm) from beg.
Bind off. Cut yarn, leaving a long tail. Use tail to seam sides.
ARMS (make 2)
With C, cast on 12 sts.
Purl 1 row.
Beg with a RS row, work in St st, in the following stripe sequence:
Rows 1-4: C.
Rows 5-8: D.
Rep Rows 1-8 until piece measures about 3 in. (7.5 cm) from beg, end with a Row 8.
Cut yarn, leaving a long tail. Thread tail through sts of last row, pull to gather tightly, and knot to secure. With C, seam sides of Arm, stuffing lightly as you sew.
LEGS (make 2)
With C, cast on 12 sts.
Purl 1 row.
Beg with a RS row, work in St st (k on RS, p on WS) in the following stripe sequence:
Rows 1-4: C.
Rows 5-8: D.
Rep Rows 1-8 until piece measures about 5 1/2 in. (14 cm) from beg, end with a Row 8.
Cut yarn, leaving a long tail. Thread tail through sts of last row, pull to gather tightly, and knot to secure. With C, seam sides of Leg, stuffing lightly as you sew.
FINISHING
Flatten Body, so that seam is at back. Sew lower edge of body closed. Stuff Body, then seam top edge. Sew Arms and Legs to Body. Sew buttons to front of Body for eyes. With yarn or embroidery floss, embroider a straight st mouth.
