Picot Cuffs

GAUGE: 23 sts + 13 1/2 rows = 4 in. (10 cm) in pattern. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
NOTES: 1. To change color, work last st of old color to last yarn over. Yarn over with new color and draw through all loops on hook to complete st. Fasten off old color.
2. Cuffs can be worked from written instructions or from chart.

With A, ch 32.
Row 1 (Right Side): Dc in 4th ch from hook, ch 1, sk next 2 ch, sc in next ch, *ch 5, sk next 4 ch, sc in next ch, ch 1, sk next 2 ch, (dc, ch 1, dc) in next ch, ch 1, sk next 2 ch, sc in next ch; rep from * across to last 3 ch, ch 2, sk next 2 ch, dc in last ch - 10 ch-sps at the end of this row.
Row 2: Ch 1, turn, sc in first dc, sk next ch-2 sp, *3 dc in each of next 3 ch-1 sps, sc in next ch-5 sp; rep from * across to last ch-1 sp, 3 dc in last ch-1 sp, 2 dc in top of turning ch; change to B - 26 sts at the end of this row.
Row 3: With B, ch 4 (for turning ch-sp), turn, sk first 2 dc, sc in next sp (between the sk 2 dc and the next 3-dc group), *ch 1, sk next 3-dc group, (dc, ch 1, dc) in next sc, ch 1, sk next 3-dc group, sc in next sp (between the sk 3-dc group and the next 3-dc group), ch 5, sk next 3-dc group, sc in next sp (between the sk 3-dc group and the next 3-dc group); rep from * across to last 3 dc, ch 1, sk last 3 dc, 2 dc in last sc.
Row 4: Ch 3, turn, dc in first dc, 3 dc in next ch-1 sp, *sc in next ch-5 sp, 3 dc in each of next 3 ch-1 sps; rep from * across to turning ch-sp, sc in turning ch-sp; change to C.
Row 5: With C, ch 3, turn, dc in first sc, *ch 1, sk next 3-dc group, sc in next sp (between the sk 3-dc group and the next 3-dc group), ch 5, sk next 3-dc group, sc in next sp (between the sk 3-dc group and the next 3-dc group), ch 1, sk next 3-dc group, (dc, ch 1, dc) in next sc; rep from * to last 3-dc group, ch 1, sk last 3-dc group, sc in next sp (between sk 3-dc group and next dc), ch 2, sk next dc, dc in top of turning ch.
Row 6: Rep Row 2; change to B at end of row.
Rows 7 and 8: With B, rep Rows 3 and 4; change to A at end of Row 8.
Rows 9 and 10: With A, rep Rows 5 and 6; change to C at end of Row 10.
Rows 11 and 12: With C, rep Rows 3 and 4; change to D at end of Row 12.
Row 13: With D, ch 3, turn, sk first 3 sts, 3 dc in next st, *sk next 2 sts, 3 dc in next st; rep from * across, dc in top of turning ch.
Row 14: Ch 1, turn, sc in each dc across, sc in top of turning ch; change to E at end of row.
Row 15: With E, ch 3, turn, sk first sc, dc in next sc, *ch 1, sk next sc, dc in next 2 sc; rep from * across - 8 ch-1 sps at the end of this row.
Row 16: Ch 1, turn, *sc in next 2 dc, sc in next ch-1 sp, ch 3, slip stitch in edge of last sc (picot made); rep from * across, sc in next dc, sc in top of turning ch; change to D - 8 picots at the end of this row.
Note: Push picots to RS when working Row 5. Do not work into the picots.
Row 17: With D, ch 3, turn, sk first 2 sc, 3 dc in next sc, *sk next 2 sc, 3 dc in next sc; rep from * across to last 2 sc, sk next sc, dc in last sc.
Row 18: Rep Row 14.
Rows 19-22: Rep Rows 15-18.
Fasten off.
FINISHING
Sew first row to last row. Weave in ends.
