GAUGE: 23 sts + 13 rows = 4 in. (10 cm) in pattern. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
NOTES: 1. To change color, work last st of old color to last yarn over. Yarn over with new color and draw through all loops on hook to complete st. Fasten off old color.
2. Cuffs can be worked from written instructions or from chart.

With A, ch 32.
Row 1 (Right Side): Dc in 4th ch from hook, ch 1, sk next 2 ch, sc in next ch, *ch 5, sk next 4 ch, sc in next ch, ch 1, sk next 2 ch, (dc, ch 1, dc) in next ch, ch 1, sk next 2 ch, sc in next ch; rep from * across to last 3 ch, ch 2, sk next 2 ch, dc in last ch - 10 ch-sps at the end of this row.
Row 2: Ch 1, turn, sc in first dc, sk next ch-2 sp, *3 dc in each of next 3 ch-1 sps, sc in next ch-5 sp; rep from * across to last ch-1 sp, 3 dc in last ch-1 sp, 2 dc in top of turning ch; change to B - 26 sts at the end of this row.
Row 3: With B, ch 4 (for turning ch-sp), turn, sk first 2 dc, sc in next sp (between the sk 2 dc and the next 3-dc group), *ch 1, sk next 3-dc group, (dc, ch 1, dc) in next sc, ch 1, sk next 3-dc group, sc in next sp (between the sk 3-dc group and the next 3-dc group), ch 5, sk next 3-dc group, sc in next sp (between the sk 3-dc group and the next 3-dc group); rep from * across to last 3 dc, ch 1, sk last 3 dc, 2 dc in last sc.
Row 4: Ch 3, turn, dc in first dc, 3 dc in next ch-1 sp, *sc in next ch-5 sp, 3 dc in each of next 3 ch-1 sps; rep from * across to turning ch-sp, sc in turning ch-sp; change to A.
Row 5: With A, ch 3, turn, dc in first sc, *ch 1, sk next 3-dc group, sc in next sp (between the sk 3-dc group and the next 3-dc group), ch 5, sk next 3-dc group, sc in next sp (between the sk 3-dc group and the next 3-dc group), ch 1, sk next 3-dc group, (dc, ch 1, dc) in next sc; rep from * to last 3-dc group, ch 1, sk last 3-dc group, sc in next sp (between sk 3-dc group and next dc), ch 2, sk next dc, dc in top of turning ch.
Rows 6-9: Rep Rows 2-5.
Row 10: Rep Row 2; change to C at end of row.
Row 11: With C, ch 1, turn, sk first dc, (sc, 3 dc) in next dc, *sk next 3 sts, (sc, 3 dc) in next st; rep from * across to last 4 sts, sk next 3 sts, sc in last st; change to D - six (sc, 3 dc) groups at the end of this row.
Row 12: With D, ch 1, turn, (sc, 3 dc) in first sc, sk next 3-dc group, *(sc, 3 dc) in next sc, sk next 3-dc group; rep from * across, sc in last sc; change to E.
Rows 13-21: Rep Row 12 nine more times, change color every row according to following color sequence: E, C, D, E, C, D, E, C, D.
Fasten off.
