GAUGE:
24 sts + 30 rows = 4 in. (10 cm) in K2, p2 Rib. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
STITCH EXPLANATION:
M1 (make 1) An increase worked by lifting the horizontal thread lying between needles and placing it onto the left needle. Knit this new stitch through the back loop - 1 st increased. From RS with circular needle and beg at left shoulder, pick up and k24 sts evenly spaced along left front neck edge, k28 (30, 32, 32, 34) sts from Front holder, pick up and k24 sts evenly spaced along right front neck edge, 10 sts along right back neck edge, k44 (46, 48, 48, 50) sts from Back holder, then pick up and k10 sts along left back neck edge - 140 (144, 148, 148, 152) sts. Place marker for beg of rnd. Join by working the first st on left hand needle with the working yarn from the right hand needle and being careful not to twist sts.
Work in K1, p1 Rib worked in the rnd until neckband measures 1 in. (2.5 cm).
Bind off in rib.
Sew in Sleeves. Sew side and Sleeve seams.
Weave in ends.
