Mulberry Cowl

Lion Brand® Quick & Cozy

GAUGE:

7 sts + 12 rows = 4 in. (10 cm) in St st (k on RS, p on WS). BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

NOTES:

Cowl is worked back and forth in rows, then ends are seamed to make Cowl.

COWL
Cast on 46 sts.
Knit 2 rows.
Beg with a RS (knit) row, work in St st (k on RS, p on WS) until piece measures 11 in. (28 cm) from beg, end with a RS row. Note: End with a RS row means that the last row you work should be a RS row, and the next row that you are ready to work will be a WS row.
Knit 2 rows.
Bind off.

FINISHING
Sew ends together (to make a circle). Weave in ends.

Mulberry Cowl Reviewed by MARY SOLIS on 2013-01-11 *****
The only problem I had with the instructions is that it tells you to knit 2 rows and then begin with a knitted row using stockinette stitch, but that would mean a third knitted row. Instead, I purled a row after I knitted 2 rows. I think it worked out much better for me. It really is a nice pattern!
