GAUGE:

14 sts = about 4 in. (10 cm) in Seed st. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. The needle or hook size called for in the pattern is based on what the designer used, but it is not unusual for gauge to vary from person to person. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make your swatch, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

Sweet little beanie! Reviewed by Joan Apple on 2011-09-03 *****
I just completed High Tide cap using 1 ball of Nature's Choice in Walnut. Cap knits up very quickly, fun to make. I had to modify pattern as I needed a smaller size. It turned out so cute I just had to write a review right away! I can't wait for some cool fall weather to show off my hat. I will definitely make this cap again! NC yarn is easy to work with, very split-resistant, seed stitch POPS in this yarn. :)
