Woodland Path Scarf
Lion Brand® Tweed Stripes
GAUGE: 14 sts = 4 in. (10 cm) in Garter st (k every row). BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
STITCH EXPLANATION: kfb (knit into front and then back)
An increase worked as follows:
1. Knit the next st through the front loop, but do not remove the st from your left hand needle.
2. Knit the same st once more, this time inserting your needle through the back loop of the st. You will have created 2 loops (sts) on your right hand needle.
3. Drop the st from your left hand needle - 1 st increased. |

| Woodland Path Scarf Reviewed by Sarah Burney on 2011-05-28 |

I enjoyed knitting this with one Lion Brand 6 oz Homespun in Baroque (purple-amethyst, fuzzy).
I was glad that I practiced with regular one-color worsted for a couple of squares before starting with the Homespun, as learning the increase and decrease stitches would have been daunting otherwise. However, the soft nubby texture was very forgiving.
At the end of knitting, I was able to define the points of the scarf better simply by tugging on them one at a time. I haven't yet tried blocking it, as tugging seemed to be sufficient.
