Lion Brand® Amazing®
18 sts = 4 in. (10 cm) in Garter st (k every row).
When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size
specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be
sufficient. The needle or hook size called for in the pattern is based on what
the designer used, but it is not unusual for gauge to vary from person to person.
If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make your swatch, try using a smaller
size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
Circular needle is used to accommodate large number of stitches. Knit Blanket back and forth in rows as if knitting with straight needles.
BLANKET Cast on 5 sts. Row 1: Knit. Row 2: K3, yo, k2. Row 3: K3, yo, k3. Row 4: K3, yo, k to end of row. Rep last row until you have 160 sts on needle. Next (Decrease) Row: K2, k2tog, yo, k2tog, k to end of row. Rep last row until 5 sts remain. Bind off.

Best pattern for blanket/throw. Can use any yarn because when measured to the size needed/wanted all you have to do is start to decrease the rows. Blanket can be made bigger for a lap throw (great for nursing home). I have made so many, lost count but it is the best and so quick to make.
