GAUGE: 12 single crochet = about 4 in. (10 cm). BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

Chain 45.
Row 1: Single crochet in 2nd chain from hook and in each chain across - 44 single crochet at the end of this row.
Row 2: Chain 1, turn, working in back loops only, single crochet in each single crochet across.
Repeat Row 2 until only about 2 yds. (2 meters) of yarn remains.
Do not fasten off.
FINISHING
Note: If you prefer, you can sew ends of piece together.
Fold piece in half, matching last row to first row. Working through both layers, slip stitch in each stitch across to join. Fasten off.
Weave in ends.

| This yarn feels similar to Homespun. The pattern is definitely for a beginner. I can do intermediate to advanced crochet so it was boring. It is real soft and real warm, can be pulled up to cover your face (which may be an improvement in my case!).
