GAUGE:
9 sts = 4 in. (10 cm) in St st worked in the rnd (k every rnd). BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

Cream Knit Hat Reviewed by CYNTHIA GIBEAU on 2012-12-06
First, loved this "flapper" hat. You can adore it with a flower, pin, or anything you want on the right side. The pattern is divided into two sections, one for the "twist" and on the the body of the hat. Perhaps if you combined the two (I did) it becomes clearer. I made a standard 2:2 cable twist and liked it much better than the "twist" stitch.
